1st District Level Sports for Girls and Women begins in Noney

Noney, February 19 2025: In connection with the "Celebration of 10 years of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" District Administration Noney in collaboration with ICDS Cell, OSC and District Sports Association Noney, is organising the 1st District Level Sports Competition for Girls & Women at Longmai Common Ground Noney dist HQs.

The inaugural programme of three day event was graced by Dr Sharath Chandra Arroju (IAS), DC Noney; Namsadai Peter, (MPS), SP Noney; Martha Kamei, president, Rongmei Naga Luphuam Imphal Luangrian; Ningthuiliu Kamsuan, vice president, Rongmei Naga Luphuam Manipur as chief guest, functional president and guests of honor respectively.

Speaking at the occasion, the chief guest extended his warm greetings to the participants, coming from different villages of Noney district before stressing on the objective and celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

Highlighting provision for more reservation with special care and love to the girl child and women, he also extended best wishes to all the participants.

Guests of honour, Martha and Ningthuiliu also extended best wishes to all the players and thanked the organizers over the programme meant for girls and women.

They also thanked the Central Government for launching many special programmes for girls and women and further appealed for more educational facilities.

The football (featuring 14 teams) and volleyball (featuring 16 teams) competitions were launched later in the day which also witnessed captivating special cultural dance and songs presented by different artistes.

The event will conclude on February 21 .
