Dr K Romeo to officiate at Asian Youth Sports Climbing C'ship

Imphal, November 10 2024: Dr K Romeo, president of Manipur Sports Climbing Association and faculty at the Department of Teacher Education, Manipur University is set to officiate the Asian Youth Sports Climbing Championship 2024 as a judge.

The continental championship will be held at Tata Nagar, Jamshedpur.

The selection underscores Dr Romeo's expertise and dedication to excel in sports climbing, said Manipur Sports Climbing Association in a press communique.

As a judge, Dr Romeo, who is also the secretary of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, North East Zone, will join an elite panel responsible for ensuring fair assessments and upholding the championship's high standard of excellence, it said.

Notably, Dr Romeo is the only person to have qualified National Grade-1 from Manipur and had conducted few international championships successfully in the past, it added.

The Manipur Sports Climbing Association and the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, North East Zone expressed happiness over his selection as the judge for the event and wished him luck for his endeavours, it continued.
