KRC climb atop Group A with 4-0 rout of Thoubal FC

Imphal, January 03 2022: KRC, Kshetrileikai cruised to top spot of Group A in the ongoing DFA Thoubal Third Division Football League Tournament after a 4-0 thrashing of Thoubal FC for the third win in five matches.

Anosh shone with a double for the Kshetrileikai team who capped their Group campaign without a loss on 11 points from three wins and two draws.

AKSDO, Khangabok are second in Group A on 6 points from 5 matches which include one win and three draws.

It was a clearly one-sided encounter as Anosh put KRC ahead in the 9th minute before Kishon doubled in the 19th minute.

Despite the comfortable, KRC continued with their onslaught and entered into the break with a 3-0 lead with Lenin scoring the team's third in the 32nd minute.

Anosh then fired home the final nail in the 49th minute as Thoubal FC remained struggling the game throughout.

In the Group A tie staged earlier, YES-Heirok rode on a late Sanjip goal to salvage a 3-3 draw with CYSA, Khangabok.

It was an edge of the seat contest with both teams displaying attacking football and sharing almost equal possession and number of scoring chances.

After a few unsuccessful attempts, YES were first to draw blood with Kh Anidash scoring in the 16th minute.

S James who starred for CYSA with a double however made it sure that the two sides head into the recess with the score level on 1-1 as he pulled level in the 19th minute.

S James then completed his brace in the 38th minute to overturn the lead only to be equalized yet again by Th Chalamba in the 42nd minute.

The parity did not last long as L Samananda handed CYSA the lead in the 44th minute before L Sanjip scored in the 53rd minute to bring YES on level terms.

The two teams then shared the spoils as their search for the winner remained elusive till the final whistle.
