Endeavour FC crowned champions of 7th VSO Trophy

Thoubal, August 02 2025: Endeavour FC, Wangjing were crowned the champions of 7th VSO Trophy organised by the Veteran Sports Organisation, Khongjom Circle under the aegis of the All Manipur Football Association.

Endeavour FC defeated Bolero FC, Singjamei by 7-6 goals on penalties after a 2-2 regulation time draw at Tekcham High School ground to walk away with the cash prize of Rs 1.2 lakh and a trophy while the runners up had to content with a cash prize of Rs 80,000 and a trophy.

The 18-team tournament was resumed in July this year after it was forced to halt back in 2023 with the eruption of Ethnic clash on May 3.It was a competitive game with both sides eyeing for the top hours.

Taj Eta found the opener early in the 14th minute for Bolero FC before Tomba put Endeavour FC back into the game by scoring the equaliser in the 17th minute.

Taj was on target again in the 22nd minute to regain the lead for Bolero FC but Engson helped Endeavour FC restore parity in the 44th minute and stretched the game to penalty shoot-out.

The valedictory function of the tournament was attended by Sama Devi, spouse of MLA of the Wangjing-Tentha AC; Chairperson of Tekcham GP Administrative Committee, Langpoklakpam Dameyenti Devi; Chairperson of Sapam GP Administrative Committee, Yumnam Landhoni Devi; Commanding Officer No 1 Nagaland AV Squadron NCC, Wing Commander Moirangthem Herojit Singh and Commanding Officer No 1 Manipur AV Squadron NCC, Squadron Leader Mutum Sandeep Singh as presidium members.
