Four teams script wins at 37th Sub-Jr State Basketball Championship

Imphal, September 01 2024: YOSC, Sainik School, Model Club and RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya emerged the victors as the 37th Sub-junior Boys & Girls State Basketball Championship 2024, organised by Manipur Basketball Association, kicked off on Sunday.

In the boys' competition, YOSC (Khurai) handed out a crushing 50-17 defeat to Youth Club (Uripok) to start their campaign on a high note.

YOSC started off with 9-7 lead in the opening quarter, then captured the second quarter 14-8 before they gained a decisive victory with a 10-0 score in the third quarter and 17-2 in the fourth quarter.

Sainik School (Pangei) got the better of LMYVA (Lalambung) 41-31 in the second match.

The Sainik School boys, who trailed 10-11 in the first quarter and 5-8 in the second period, bounced back with a 10-8 score in the third quarter and 16-4 in the fourth to snatch a 41-31 win.

The boys' third match saw Model Club (Chingamakha) overpower St Xavier's School (Majuron) 55-9.They jumped out to a 22-2 first-quarter lead, took the second quarter 5-1, the third 5-0 and the fourth 22-6, rounding off their campaign opener in style.

In the girl's match, RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya (Imphal) beat Catholic School (Canchipur) by a 17-12 margin.
