LAGSA Golden Jubilee Meet 2018 concludes

The defending champions Seijamang Memorial Team (SMT), Phaijang retained the title of Men's Football Championship while G Songgel Youth Club and M Moljol Youth Club clinched the Junior Boys Football and Women's Volleyball Champions Trophies of the Lonpi Area Games and Sports Association (LAGSA) Golden Jubilee Meet 2018 on January 27 .
Outer Manipur's Member of Parliament, Thangso Baite, Chandel ADC Member Limkhojam Haokip and Special Secretary of Tribal Affairs & Hills, Lunminthang Haokip, IAS graced as the closing ceremony held at Khupjam Memorial Ground, Khopijang village, Chandel district as chief Guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.

SMT retained the Champion Trophy of Men's Football by defeating LYGSEDA Langching via a tie breaker by 7-6 goals after both team scored 2-2 goals in the normal time of the final match.
In the keenly constested final match of the Men's Football, SMT dominated the first half of the match and led by 1-0 goal after Peter Seiminthang scored the opener.
But in the second half of the match, LYGSEDA Langching equalised the goal score to 1-1 through Robert Langching who found the opponent's net in the 59th minute.
Clement again gave SMT 2-1 lead but was short-lived as Dannyboy Baite of LYGSEDA netted another goal to make it 2-2 in the last minute of the match.
SMT Phaijang lifted the Men's Football Champion Trophy and went home richer with a cash prize of Rs 1 Lakh while the runners up LYGSEDA Langching contended with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 70,000 .
And the two semi finalist teams, Khopimun Football Club and Aihang Youth Club walked home with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 .
In the final match of the Junior Boys Football, G Songgel Youth Club defeated TKLYDO T Lailoiphai 1-0 and lifted the Junior Boys Football Champion Trophy with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 .
And in the Women's Volleyball final match, M Moljol Youth Club emerged the Champions after beating Bd Ruwngdil Memorial Team (BRMT) 25-14, 25-23, 25-7 .
M Moljol Youth Club walked home with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy while BRMT contended with the runners up trophy with Rs 20,000 .
