31st General Conference cum Sports Meet Silent outclass Litan in women's volleyball

Silent today outclassed Lital by straight 2-0 sets in a women's match of the volleyball tournament which is being organised by South Tangkhul Student's Union as a part the 31st General Conference Cum Sports Meet 2018 at Leingang Ching Village, Ukhrul district.
The volleyball tournament organised on knock-out basis features 52 men's teams and 44 women's teams.
In the first women's clash, Silent enjoyed an easy 2-0 (25-12, 25-12) sets win over Lital while Irong Aze secured similar win (25-13, 25-23) against Singkap in the second match.
Kharan also thumped Riha by 2-0 sets (25-14, 25-19) in the third match.
The fourth match saw Nongdam edged out Mawai by 2-1 sets.
Though Nongdam go down 20-25 in the first set, they came back stronger in the last two sets (25-21, 15-7) to advance into the next round.
Chadong also moved into the next round after getting a 2-0 (25-15, 25-13) sets win over Ramrei in the fifth match.
In the next match, S Louling outclassed Silent 26-24, 25-11 and made way into the next round of the tournament while Irong Aze got better of Lariam Khullen 26-24, 18-25, 15-13 in the following match.
Kharan who beat Riha by 2-1 sets in the previous match crashed out 0-2 (20-25, 18-25) in the hands of Hongbei while in the last match, Nongdam beat Khamlang 2-0 (25-19, 25-21) to advance into the next stage.
In the first men's volleyball match of the day, Muirei brushed aside Shingta 25-20, 25-19 to cruise into the next round while Ngarumfum outclassed Tangkhul Hungdung 25-20, 25-15 in the second match.
Khamlam and S Laho also secured similar wins against Kharan and Sarkaphung in the following matches.
Tamaram took over the first set 25-21 in the fifth match against Lamlai Khunou but conceded 24-25 in the second match to go for the deciding set.
Tamaram bounced back in the deciding set and edged out their rivals by 16-14 points to enter into next round.
Nambashi Khullen beat Riha 25-20, 18-25, 15-8 in the next match while S Lousing beat Ramrei 17-25, 25-20, 15-12 to move into next round.
In the eight match for men's volleyball, Nongdam overwhelmed Lairamphung by straight 2-0 sets (25-10, 25-15) while the next minute saw New Canaal outclassed Ashangkhullen with the same fashion (25-13, 25-16) .
In the last match of the day, Happyland prevailed over Thangkhul Khullel 2-0 (25-13, 25-13) and galloped into the next stage of the tournament.
