Ist Phantu Cup Football Tournament : Panchai beats Khubung Khunou Club 5-3

Panchai Sporting and Cultural Club (PSCC) beat Khubung Khunou Novokom Youth Club 5-3 in the opening match of Ist Phantu Cup Football Tournament which kicked off from today at the Playground of Maha Union Govt.Higher Secondary School, Japhou here.
Even though Khubung Khunou club scored the first goal in the 1st min through Sr Thumcast (Jersey No 10); St Levite (Jersey No 10) of PSCC equalized the goal in the 2nd min.
After that, Chuna Kom (Jersey No7) of PSCC came up with two goals in the 33th and 34th min one after another.
During the second half of the match, Chuna Kom kicked yet another goal into the net of the opponent in the the 43th min thereby earning the first hattrick of the tournament.
Khubung Khunou managed to reduce the margin when Lh Thangnungam (Jersey No7) netted a goal in the 42th min.
However, Louise (Jersey No 9) of PSCC scored the fifth goal of his team in the 59th min.
In the last min of the second half, Ws Bebe (Jersey No.12) of Khubung Khunou netted the third goal in favour of his team.
The First Phantu Cup, a district level football tournament being organized by Lambung Youth and Cultural Club began today with an opening ceremony held at the same ground with Commanding Officer of 20 AR Col Suveer Seth as Chief Guest.
Speaking at the function, Colonel Suveer Seth encouraged the youths of Chandel in the field of sports and expressed his believe that one day or the other day the Chandel football players will come out at the State level and even at the National level.
He also advised the youths not to neglect in their studies but to give their best effort in education and in other fields.
He also promised organizers to give a hand of support of any kind and assistance in days to come.
Dignitaries on dais included 2ic of 20 AR Harsh Pandey and a host of special invitees and guests.
Making the ceremony even more livelier, 'Anal AKAM' dance was performed by members of Lambung Youth and Cultural Club and it was followed by special numbers from Sng Pearson & Lh Romelling, two renowned artists of Chandel.
