Weightlifting championship begins

Imphal, August 29 2014 : The 17th Sub-Junior, 19th Senior and 18th Junior State Level Weightlifting Championship, 2014 organised by Manipur Weightlifting Association began from today at Khuman Lampak SAG Hall here.

In the Youth Girls (44kg) category, Tang Devi of NSA won the first position by lifting 104 kg (45Kg in Snatch and 59 Kg in Clean and Jerk).

K Ormila of SAI Utlou and Quasar of KIYC secured the 2nd and 3rd position by lifting 97kg (Snatch-44, C/J-53) and 92 kg (S-42, C/J-50) respectively.

H Jinarani Devi of WMC Moidangpok won the 1st position in the 48Kg Youth category with an overall lift of 137 Kg, 60 Kg in Snatch and 77 in Clean and Jerk.

P Ganga SAI Utlou and S Bidyarani SAI Imphal came in the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

The 53Kg Youth Girls category title was bagged by Ch Nirmala Devi of SAI by lifting 125 kg (S-55, C/J-70).The 2nd and 3rd position holders are Baby Loliataga of NSA and N Ronita Devi of PRSC Utlou respectively.

In the 58 Kg Youth Girls category, Kh Nungshiton of ACWA won the first position by lifting 152 kg (S-66, C/J-86) while Y Shilheinganbi of SAI Imphal and P Umeshwori Devi of GMC Phubala came in the the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
