Sawombung, Huikap, Uyumpok FC register wins in Lamlai Cup Football Tournament

Imphal, May 28 2022: Sawombung, Huikap and Uyumpok teams emerged victorious against their respective rivals in today's matches of the Lamlai Cup 2022-23 being underway at Lamlai ground.

In the first match of the day (Group E), Sawombung beat NKFC, Nongada by 2-1 goals.

A Sonalist earned the team a 1-0 lead before the break and A Holland netted the decisive goal before Ph Raju pulled back a goal for NKFC in the 40th minute of the match.

The second Group E league match of the day between TYWO, Takhel and Sabungkhong ended in a goalless draw.

In a Group H encounter of the tournament played in the third ground, Uyumpok FC sealed a 2-0 win over Sanjenbam FC as Ng Rakesh (23') and Joykishan (34') scored on either side of the break.

Meanwhile in a Group F league match, Huikap Da Thoi FC edged past LSIC-A 2-1.Both the goals for the winning side was scored by Bicky in the 27th and the 42nd minutes of the match.

The day also saw LSIC-B playing out a goalless draw with Pangei team in a Group F match as efforts from both ends went abegging.
