29th State Youth Basketball C'ships : Aribam Angelina dazzles as YOSC tame LMYVA 42-12

Imphal, September 23 2026: Aribam Angelina shone with a 26-point finish to help YOSC, Khurai register an easy 42-12 win over LMYVA, Lalambung in a girls league round match of the ongoing 29th State Youth Basketball Championships 2026 .

YOSC dominated from the beginning and led the first period 12-4 before extending the lead to 22-8 at the halfway mark, 32-8 in the third period and eventually securing the 42-12 win.

Angelina scored 6 points each in the first three quarters before adding 8 points in the final period to amass 26 points as Tejasvi Kangabam scored 10 points, Takhellambam Thoithoibi scored 4 points and Denali Tekcham scored 2 points.

For LMYVA, Nongthombam Merinda scored 6 points as Shreeya Pebam (4 pts) and Minanda Mutum (2 pts) made another 6 points.

In another girls' match, CYLC outclassed NETA 29-4 riding on Rejina Achom's leading 14-point finish and contributions from Julia Naorem (6 pts), Martina Naorem (5) and Priyanka Hijam (7 pts) .

Ch Lamnganbi and Ch Abembem scored two goals apiece for the losing side.

LMYVA, BDBA and ESU victorious in boys' tournament

The day also saw LMYVA, Lalambung cruise to their third Group A win on the trot by handing St Anthony's School a 51-22 defeat.

Satish and Anderson scored a trey apiece to add 18 and 15 points respectively in LMYVA's huge victory today as Kh Chaoba scored 6 points and Malemson scored 4 points.

Th Thoungamba, Woyipen Chithung, N Rex and G Ronald also scored 2 points apiece for LMYVA as Ngarakzak led the scoring for St Anthony's School with a 9 point finish off 2 treys.

Dhanakumar (4 pts), Lerbung (4 pts), Vasco Laiphrakpam (3 pts) and Slickice (2 pts) also scored for St Anthony's School.

In another Group A match staged earlier this morning, BDBA beat CYLC by 42-21 points.

Shangkar (13 pts) and Suryajit (12 pts) led the scoring for BDBA followed by 6 points apiece from Bhogen and Sendick .

Sashikumar (3 pts) and Manish (2 pts) also shared five points in BDBA's victory.

For CYCL, Korou (7 pts), Jospin (6 pts), Bhagirat (5 pts) and Algison (3 pts) amassed 21 points in a lost cause.

In the first match of the day staged early in the morning, ESU beat UNACCO School 49-20 for the second Group B win.

Prince led the scoring for ESU with 17 points followed by Chingichen (11 pts), Garry (6 pts), Dishiraj (6 pts), Robinhood (4 pts), Satish (2 pts), Geetchandra (2 pts) and Jinit Th (1 pt) .

L Bryon scored the highest 8 points for UNACCO as Yohenba and N Lebronson scored 4 points apiece, and Poirengamba and Y Dembajeet scored 2 points apiece.
