YPHU thump LCCC by 57 runs in Veteran Cricket tourney

Imphal, December 19 2022: YPHU-Lalambung sealed a 57-run victory over LCCC-Lilong Chajing in 9th match of the 19th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Luker ground today.

YPHU stacked up 165 runs for 6 wickets in allotted 30 overs after electing to bat first and rode on Bedamohon's 4 wicket haul to bowl out LCCC for 108 runs in 24 overs.

Alai Ryder scored an unbeaten 50 off 49 balls for YPHU as Ponil (21 not out), Surjit (19), Hemanta (15) and Dhanajit (13) followed suit.

Akbar and Jillangamba of LCCC picked two wickets apiece in YPHU's innings as Krishna and Sanjit settled with a wicket each.

In reply, Krishna scored 41 off 30 balls but his effort went in vain as Bedamohon (4/28 in 6 overs) and Pyarlal (2/15 in 4 overs) bowled exceptionally well to guide YPHU to a comfortable win.

Meiraba, Gyanranjan and Kenny of YPHU also picked a wicket to set up the big win for YPHU.

Bedamohon was eventually adjudged man of the match.

CHAMP will play YWC-L tomorrow in the next match.
