H Shanker clinches singles title AITA NR Tennis tournament

Imphal, November 08 2024: Manipur's top seed Shanker Heisnam clinched the singles title at the AITA Men's 1 Lakh National Ranking Tennis Tournament hosted by Manipur Tennis Association (MATA) at Officers' Club Tennis Courts, Lamphelpat.

In the singles final staged today, Shanker defeated compatriot and second seed Haobam Bushan 6-2, 6-3 to seal the top honour and a cash reward of Rs 12,500 along with the winner's trophy.

Meanwhile Bushan settled for a cash prize of Rs 8,400 and a trophy.

Shanker and Bushan, who also sealed doubles title also received a cash reward of Rs 6,200 as runners up pair of Anshumat Srivastava of Bihar and Anshuman Singh of UP contented with a cash prize of Rs 3,800 .
