7th Khelo India Youth Games : State girls team win gold in Sepaktakraw

Imphal, May 08 2025: In the 7th Khelo India Youth Games 2025 today, Manipur girls Sepaktakraw team defeated host Bihar 2-0 to win gold in the quad event final.

While there were setbacks and disappointment in the Volleyball and Cycling disciplines, Manipur won 2 gold and one silver medal today.

In the quad event final, Manipur girls beat Bihar 15-8, 15-12.They beat Maharashtra 2-0 (15-7, 15-10) in the semifinals.

Yumnam Bipilia won a gold in +63 Kg girls' Judo.

She defeated Sonakshi Pandit of Rajasthan in the final.

With one gold, one silver and one bronze, Manipur Judo team has emerged 2nd runners up.

In the boys' quad event final, Manipur settled for the silver after suffering a 0-2 (14-17, 8-15) defeat against host Bihar.

Manipur had defeated Nagaland 2-0 (15-9, 15-9) in the semifinal.

Volleyball for boys: In the bronze medal match, Manipur lost to Punjab in a closely contested game, narrowly missing a place on the podium.

Cycling: The cycling track events for boys and girls concluded today without Manipur securing any medals.
