VSAI beat UVSA 1-0 in 4th Sangai Trophy

Imphal, June 06 2022: VSAI, Thangmeiband cruised to third straight victory in the 4th Sangai Trophy Group D league competition beating UVSA FC by a slender 1-0 margin today.

The result also meant that the Thangmeiband side qualified for the quarter finals as Group winners.

It was also a crucial match for the Group as both teams were vying for the pole position in the Group with two wins in their names.

As expected, it was a very competitive encounter with both sides keeping things tight but VSAI managed to win the game with a last gasp goal when P Romesh converted a last ditch effort two minutes into the stoppage time.

Earlier in a Group C league match, KVFA, Kakching snapped their losing run of two matches by beating TRVSA, Malom 3-1 thanks to Rengshel hattrick (18', 30+2', 36') .

The lone goal of the losing side was scored by Ojit late during the stoppage time (60+2') .
