Imphal, February 25 2015: MPSC (A) and Ibudhou Thangjing PC entered the semifinals of the N Hazari and Dr N Tombi Polo Tournament on Wednesday.

MPSC (A) steamrolled K&MM Riding School 12-1 in the first encounter for a semifinal berth.

Most of the action in the first chakkar was concentrated near the K&MMRS goalmouth and MPSC (A) succeeded in scoring thrice, two of them by M Jawan and one by S Abungcha.

After an uneventful second chakkar, the policemen regrouped themselves to pumped six goals in the third chakkar.

Jawan scored three goals, in a one minute blitz, S Bimol scored a brace while Abungcha scored his second.

The scoreline read 9-0 in favor of MPSC (A) after the end of the chakkar.

In the last chakkar, the policemen added three more goals through Th Romen, Th Ranjit and S Bimol to increase the lead to 12-0, after which L Dhaneshwor of K&MMRS spoiled MPSC (A) chances of a clean slate with his team's lone goal of the match.

The match featuring Eastern Students' Club (A) and Ibudhou Thangjing PC unfolded into a hard fought battle for a semifinal place.

The teams were leveled 2-2 at the end of the third chakkar �M Doren scoring twice for Ibodhou Thangjing PC in the second chakkar and ESC (A) responding with goals from H Muhindro (1st chakkar) and Th Momocha (2nd chakkar) � after a scoreless first chakkar.

However, in the fourth chakkar, the winning team exerted its superiority with three crucial strikes through S Sadananda, O Samarjit and Doren while ESC (A) could manage just one goal, H Achumi being the scorer.

Tomorrow, K&MMRS (B) will take on Nambulmapal Polo Club while Chingkheihunba Polo Club (B) will play Khurai Polo Club (A) .
