CRPF Inter Battalion Badminton : KG Kom to face N Sanjoy in all 69 Bn clash for singles title

Imphal, June 26 2019: KG Kom of 69 Bn will meet his unit mate N Sanjoy for the open singles title at the CRPF Inter GC/ Bn Badminton Tournament being hosted by Group Centre CRPF, Imphal at Badminton Hall of GC CRPF Langjing.

KG Kom reached the final with a 21-12, 16-21, 22-20 win against N Sanayaima of 32 Bn in the semi-final while N Sanjoy sealed a 21-10, 16-21, 21-14 win over RK Devajit Singh of GC Imphal to complete the final line up.

In the earlier round clashes, KG Kom beat T Bhaskar of 78 Bn 30-21; RK Devajit (30-27) while N Sanjoy prevailed Ankit Gupta of 87 Bn 30-5.Above 45 years singles Sh Premjit of 87 Bn will lock horns with M Jeevan of 32nd Bn in the final of above 45 years singles.

Sh Premjit earned wins against Netamani of 69 Bn (30-18) and B Raju of 109 Bn (30- 16) in the earlier rounds today to reach the final of the competition.

Open Doubles
KG Kom and N Sanjoy pair of 69 Bn will be meeting N Sanayaima and Boby Singh pair representing 32nd Bn in the final of the open double competition.

KG Kom-Sanjoy got the better of T Bhasker and Bheema LS of 78 Bn 21-18, 21-11 to seal the fnal place while N Sanayaima and Boby Singh carved out a 21-13, 20-22, 21-11 win against Rajeev R and RK Devajit in another semi-final match.

A total of 8 teams from different CRPF units are taking part in the tournament which began on Jun 25 .
