State teams head to Vijayawada for 51st Sub-Junior National Basketball C'ships

Imphal, September 23 2026: The Manipur Basketball Association flagged off the State teams for the 51st Sub-Junior National Basketball Championships this evening.

The championships will be held from September 27 to October 4 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

Notably, Billgates Thiyam, Achom Phoenix, Shriyans Potshangbam and Nongthombam Dhanaraj of Youth Club; Chitan Chongtham, Nongthombam Chitravash and Toijam Hitler of YOSC; Mangalsana Rajkumar, Pangakpa Chingakham and Shijagurumayum Bronson of ESU; Tomthin Thongam of Model Club and Malem Thingnam of LMYVA will be representing Manipur in the boys' championship.

Meanwhile, the girls' team comprise Monali Phurailat-pam, Lingjelthoibi Laiphrak- pam, Henthoi Abujam and Lamjingbi Chingakham of CYLC; Thasana Thangjam, Lanchenbi Takhellambam, Ngangbam Chimchim and Percy Moirangthem of YOSC; Hoshika Mayengbam and Belia Mutum of LMYVA; Chanukhombi Ngangbam and Chingulembi Ngangbam of NETA .

The boys team are being led by Y Kaashper as head coach, Surmita Singh as coach and T Brajabidhu as the manager while the girls' team are led by Borish Achom as head coach, Benish Leisangthem as coach and Naorem Jackson as the manager.
