SWC-K, KFC victorious in 18th DSA Trophy Invitation Football Tournament

Imphal, August 19 2024: Social Welfare Club, Keirak (SWC-K) romped 6-1 past Sun Rise Development Club (SRDC), Kakching as Kakching Football Club (KFC) won 2-0 against All Irengband Football Association (AIFA), Irengband in Group A matches of the ongoing 18th DSA Trophy Invitation Football Tournament.

K Dingkal shone in SWC-K's emphatic victory scoring three goals alone while Th Yaiphaba hit a brace this afternoon at DSA Kakching playground.

It was a dominating start to the tournament for the Keirak side as Th Yaiphaba scored in the 21st minute to earn a 1-0 first half lead before completing his brace in the 56th minute.

K Dingkal carried forward the momentum and scored the team's third goal in the 57th minute before adding his second goal three minutes later to make it 4-0 .

SRDC who were reeling under immense pressure pulled off a goal courtesy of N Chinglensana in the 63rd minute but it turned out to be their consolation goal as W Sanatomba made it 5-1 three minutes into the stoppage time (80+3') before K Dingkal completed his treble the next minute to seal the game 6-1 .

Later in the day, Arnold scored a second half brace to earn KFC a 2-0 win over AIFA.

The two sides started cautiously and entered into the break goalless before Arnold ended the goal drought in the 45th minute.

Despite the lead, it was an end to end affair with KFC looking to add to their tally and AIFA trying to come to level terms.

Arnold further extended the lead to 2-0 after 73rd minute leaving AIFA little room for a comeback.

KFC defence then ward off all late charges to keep the scoreline intact and seal the victory.

YWU, Kakching will play AKSA, Kakching Khunou in the Group B opening match from 12.30 pm before KMSWC-Keirak play UCC-Kakching in the Group D opening match from 2.30 pm .
