Sub-Jr Boys Inter Dist football : DSA Churachandpur notch up 7-4 win against DSA Kakching

Imphal, July 12 2018: District Sports Association Churachandpur (DSA Ccpur) opened up its campaign at the 22nd Sub-Junior Boys Inter District Football Tournament being organised by All Manipur Football Association at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak with a dominating 7-4 win against District Sports Association Kakching today.

Earlier DSA Chandel and DSA Bishnupur played out a 2-2 draw in an evenly matched game.

Shitan of DSA Kakching shone in the match scoring four goals alone, including a hat-trick which gave his team a 3-0 lead but Mangsonnung S of DSA Churachandpur outshone him with the same number of goals and took home the match.

DSA Kakching took a promising start with Shitan opening the account early in the 5th minute before adding his second goal in the 28th minute and put his team ahead by two goals.

Their raids continued and it was in the 31st minute that Shitan completed his hattrick and sent his team clear ahead with a 3-0 lead.

DSA Ccpur, however, made a surprise comeback in the 33 rd minute when Jehova Lalthang opened up the scoring before star of the day Mangsonnung also found the net a couple of minutes later to make it 2-3 at the stroke of the half time.

It was a total twist of the fate as DSA Churachandpur were able to control the game soon after the restart with Mangsonnung and Lenlalthuan S leading the attack.

Mangsonnung then made his way into the box in the 45th minute and levelled the score at 3-3 with a rasping shot before he made his third strike in the 49th minute to hand the Churachandpur side a 4-3 lead.

The onslaught continued with Lenlalthuan S scoring a fine shot in the 52nd minute while Mangsonnung and Jehova pumped in one goal each in the 59th and 62nd minute to make it 7-3 .

The already subdued Kakching side made a late return and it was Shitan again who scored his fourth goal in the 72nd minute to make it 4-7 .

They pushed forward for more goals trying to reduce the deficit in the latter part but ended in total dismal as the scoreline remained undisturbed favouring the Churachandpur side.

In another league match played earlier, TS Thomson gave DSA Chandel an early lead with his strike in the 33rd minute after a cautious start from both ends.

Md Sakir Singh then scored the equaliser during the stoppage time of the first half before completing his brace with another shot in the 69th minute and handed DSA Bpr a 2-1 lead.

The lead, however could not last till the final whistle as Sungnem Bungony came up to rescue his team with a scintillating shot two minutes before the regulation time to settle the game in a 2-2 draw.
