Imphal, March 08 2022: YWC, Langthabal snapped KSDO's winning run with a 5 wicket thrashing for the second successive victory in Group A league competition of the 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament as RULE, Malom notched up a comfortable 109 run victory against SDC, Laipham Khunou today in a Group B league match.

KSDO, Kiyamgei who were looking for the third straight victory had to bite the dust as they faltered badly and bundled out for a paltry 130 total within 31.3 after electing to bat first at Langthabal Public Ground.

The Langthabal team, enjoying the home crowd, chased down the target within the same 31.3 overs with five wickets left in hand.

KSDO who had beaten PCC and PTCC earlier, lost their batters in quick succession today as Leishangthem Bishorjit and Soubam Robinson Singh ran riot with the fierce bowling performance.

They lost opener Nawaz to L Bishorjit on 2 in the 3rd delivery of the opening over before being reduced to 13/2 within the third over losing Mohammed Shamir Khan on 2 to Bishorjit yet again.

Bishorjit completed his three wicket haul dismissing Reehaj on 5 to restrict KSDO to 27/3 within 6.1 overs.

Hamza who came out for the second wicket tried to bring some order with a cautious approach, his partners on the other end kept departing on regular intervals.

The condition for KSDO got further worsened as they slipped to 60/5 in 18.1 overs after losing Abdul Rafique (6) to L Dinachandra (1/18 in 8 overs) and Md Raish Raja (6) to Ngangbam Bishwash (1/33 in 8 overs) .

Yensembam Vivek (1/4 in 2 overs) then removed Tarique Aziz on 13 for the seven wicket before Soubam Robinson sent Hamza packing on 60 and swept the remaining two to finish with the bowling figures of 3/23 in 5.3 overs.

In the chase, Seram Robinson (21) and Jiko Sorokhaibam (34) set the momentum before Ngangbam Bikramjit scored an unbeaten 39 off 46 balls to steer YWC to 5 wicket win.

Leishanthem Bishorjit Singh who claimed 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs was eventually named man of the match.

Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, RULE who thumped KASC, Khomidok in their Group B opener rode on Jay Singh's five-for to secure second win in the tournament.

RULE stacked up a modest total of 205 runs for 8 after opting to bat first.

It was a shocking start for the Malom team as they lost Mutum Sudir (2) early in the 2nd over but Sanjenbam Suresh (25) and Jay Singh Haorokcham (18) took the team past the 50 run mark.

RULE further dealt with a blow as Thangboy Doungel (3/45) removed Chabungbam Ishworjit on duck and trapped Ayekpam Rakesh lbw to reduce RULE to 88/5 .

Rajkumar Herachandra (21) and Sanjenbam Ananda (22) made sure that the scoreboard kept ticking before Nongthombam Denin brought up a late show and finished with an unbeaten 54.Ayekpam Govind was also unbeaten on 15 to make it 205 for 8 in the end.

SDC's Bollanath (2/35 in 8 overs) and Paonam Satyajit (2/36) finished with two wickets apiece as Maibam Suraj claimed a single.

The Laipham Khunou side however had a forgetful chase as they were bowled out for 96 within 24 overs.

Off spinner Jay Singh was in prolific form today as he rattled the batting line up of SDC and removed a bulk of 5 wickets, including three on ducks spilling 23 runs in 6 overs which contained a maiden over.

Sanjenbam Ananda managed 3 wickets including SDC skipper Konjengbam Monish (23) while Nongthombam Denin shone with a two wicket haul for 12 runs in 6 overs.

Bollanath who came out lately was the highest run getter for the team with 27 runs (not out) in his name as the innings saw 5 batters went out on ducks.

Eventually, Jay Singh who added 18 runs and finished with an impressive five-for was adjudged man of the match.
