Track Cycling Nationals : Victoriya shines again, tops 2 km individual pursuit

Imphal, October 31 2026: Huirem Victoriya extended her gold medal haul at the National Track Cycling championship being underway in Ranchi under the aegis of the Cycling Federation of India.

Victoriya, who sealed the youth girls' 500 m time trial gold medal yesterday, raced to her second gold medal in the 2 km individual pursuit today.

Rajasthan's Aaina Chaudhary was second in the event to seal the silver medal as Sasmita Panda of Odisha took 3 minutes 5.201 seconds to finish third and claim the bronze medal.

State's Thangjam Langamba meanwhile settled for the bronze medal in the youth boys' 2 km individual pursuit with a time of 2 minutes 41.847 seconds.

Abhinav Bishnoi of Rajasthan was the fastest in the competition and won the gold medal in 2:39.210 while compatriot Vipul Mahala claimed the silver medal in 2:39.259 .

Manipur also won the Elite men's team sprint bronze medal today.

The team comprising Mayanglambam Wattaba, Khwairakpam Rahul and Wahengbam Bidyananda clocked 1:05.608 in the 3-lap event to settle for the bronze medal as Andaman and Nicobar Islands team comprising Esow, David Beckham and Chamberlian took the gold medal in 1:02.865 and RSPB's Amir Reyaz, Devendra Bishnoi and Mukesh Kaswan won the silver medal in 1:04.162 .

Notably, Manipur's Mayengbam Henthoi Singh and Chanambam Poireinganba delivered strong performances to secure second and third place in the youth boys' 500 m time trial competition yesterday.
