MPSC football team disbanded

In a swift action over alleged match-fixing, Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC), the Manipur Police football team comprising 21 players and Coach, has been disbanded with immediate effect for 'deliberate underperformance in the final match of the just concluded 7th Manipur State League played against SSU.
Director General of Police Y Joykumar Singh, who is also the Chairman of MPSC, has issued an order in this connection today.
Accordingly, the Director of Manipur Police Training College (MPTC), Pangei, where the 21 players and their Coach Jemadar Kh Sanaton Singh are attached, has also been directed to release them with immediate effect with direction to report back to their respective units.
The unit commanders concerned shall utilize these players in duties fit for them and 'they will not represent Manipur Police Sports Club in any sporting discipline in future for the disgrace they brought to the department by their deliberate underperformance', the order made it clear.
The 21 players are Rifleman Joseph Vonlal of 2nd MR, ASI Benjamin Kamson of SP Imphal East unit, Rifleman Priokumar of 2nd MR, Rifleman P Makulung of Ist IRB, Rifleman L Ibothoi of 5th IRB, Rifleman Maringmei of 7th IRB, Havildar M Somochandra of 7th IRB, Havildar Henry Chawang of 5th IRB, Rifleman Ksh Kanta of 4th IRB, Rifleman Thangminlian of 4th IRB, Havildar I Nilakumar of 7th IRB, SI K Premkumar of SP/CID (CB) unit, Rifleman M Sanatomba of 3rd IRB, CRTO G Golmei, Rifleman O Priokumar of 7th MR, Havildar N Deskumar of 7th IRB, Rifleman L Enil of 8th MR, Rifleman Shingba Kabui of 7th MR, Rifleman O Somorendro of 5th IRB, Rifleman O Amarjit of MPTC and Rifleman Khem Bahadur of 6th MR .
