Sub-Junior Women National Boxing : Four State Boxers cruise into final

State boxers continued to impress with their boxing skills inside the ring as many as four State boxers sailed through the final of the 1st Sub-Junior Women National Boxing Championship being organized under the aegis of Boxing Federation of India in Nagpur with convincing win over their rivals.
Yumnam Venika Devi (38 kg), Huidrom Grivia Devi (48 kg), Wangjam Ethoibi Devi (50 kg) and Thokchom Kunjari Chanu (54 kg) overcame their opponents to advance to the finals.
In the semi-final of 38 kg bout, = Yumnam Venika Devi outsmarted Punjab boxer Pinky with an easy 5-0 win and move to the final while Huidrom Grivia Devi (48 kg) also produced another spirited performance beating Tara Yahana of Uttar Pradesh by 5-0 points to cruise into the final.
In the 50 kg semi-final bout, Wangjam Ethoibi Devi also produced another class performance to beat Assam boxer Ikon through RAC in the third round of the bout and entered the final while Thokchom Kunjarani Chanu also outperformed Neeru Khattari of Haryana through RAC in the third round of the 54 kg semi-final bout and sealed a berth in the final.
In the 46 kg semi-final bout, Bindhiya Maisnam was beaten by Sanjana of Delhi by 0-5 points and settled for bronze medal while Elangbam Thoithoi also met the same faith at the hand of Haryana boxer Anchal Saina and settled for the bronze medal.
