Sapna hailed on winning 4 medals in Lusofonia games

Imphal, February 10 2014:
Yurembam Sapna Chanu, who won 4 medals in the recently concluded 3rd Lusofonia Games held at Pedem Multi Purpose Complex, Goa from 18th to 19th February, 2013, was given a warm welcome on her arrival at Tulihal Airport, Imphal by Irilbung Library Union Club, Keirao Bitra and her well-wishers.
Sapna won 1 gold and 3 silver medals in the Gunshu, Daosu and Dual events.
Sapna alone won the prestigious gold medal for India in the sporting event in which India won over all championship title.
Altogether 10 countries took part in the said championship.
It may be recalled that Sapna had earlier brought laurels for India by winning a bronze medal in dual event of World Wushu Championship held at Singapore in 2010 .
Moreover, Sapna, who represent Manipur in the recently concluded 22nd Senior National Men and Women Wushu Championship 2014 held at Jaipur, Rajasthan, also won 4 gold medals in the said championship.
Sapna is the second child of seven children born to late Yulembam Sanatomba and Jamini of Keirao Bitra Awang Leikai, Imphal East district.
Before taking up Wushu games, Sapna grew up as gymnast and won numerous medals at the national level championships.
