TAYA 44th Annual Sports Meet kicks off

The 44th Annual Sports Meet 2022 of Tujang Area Youth Association (TAYA) under Kangpokpi AC kicked off on Monday.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by ADC Sadar Hills caretaker chairman Haokholal Hangshing as chief guest while Haotinlen Vaiphei, chief of S Molnom and Lamkholen Kipgen, former executive member ADC Sadar Hills, attended as guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Rev Lunkhosat Kipgen was the dedicating minister while ST Thangboi was the donor/special guest.
Haokholal Hangshing inaugurated the monolith erected to commemorate the inauguration of the renovated playground of TAYA which was dedicated by the Rev Lunkhosat Kipgen in the presence of other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest said that most of the national and international level players had begun their career in a playground like us, adding, "We are no less than others, but what we lack is determination and commitment".
The caretaker chairman then exhorted the youth of the Tujang area to play with determination and commitment to become the next inspiration for the next generation.
Other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion as they also distributed red blankets to all the village chiefs of the Tujang area.
Following the inspection of players by the chief Guest and the dignitaries, a premier match was played between P Khothah Part II Youth Club and Cananphai Youth Club to mark the opening of the annual sports meet.
Cananphai Youth Club overwhelmed P Khothah Part II Youth Club 2-0 to win the premier match.
Laljalen (25th) and Lalgoumin (67th) scored for Cananphai Youth Club.
Cultural dances from Kholjang Youth Club, Paspati Gorkha Youth Club, and Saikotjang Youth Club marked the occasion.
Tujang Area Chiefs' Organization and various other local civil bodies also attended the inaugural and opening ceremony.
