Imphal, January 27 2023: Spinner L Kishan Singha proved vital for Manipur yet again as he enjoyed a fifer to reduce Bihar to 156 for 6 in their second innings at Stumps on Day 3 of the Ranji Trophy Plate Group final at Moin Ul Haq Stadium, Patna.

Despite Kishan Singha's performance, Bihar continued to hold sway with a 365 runs lead after 48 overs of their second innings.

Manipur had piled up a respectable total of 337 runs for 10 in 94.3 overs of their first innings which extended till today's afternoon in response to Bihar's huge first innings total of 546 runs for 10 in 124.4 overs.

S Gani (205 off 238) and Bipin Saurabh (155 off 241 balls) took centre stage in Bihar's innings in which Kishan Singha grabbed 4 wickets for 141 runs and Rex and Jotin claimed two wickets each.

Manipur's innings saw a commendable 110-run third wicket partnership between skipper Langlonyamba who departed with a half century and P Prafullomani who blazed off 88 off 77 balls to give the team some hope. Jotin Pheiroijam and Kishan Singha (36) also forged a partnership of 98 runs off 186 deliveries for the 7th wicket stand before Jotin (68) and Rex (28) stitched together 41 runs for the 9th wicket and took the tally past the 300-run mark.

Nawaz was the wrecker-in-chief for Bihar as he snatched five wickets for 82 runs in 20 overs while his teammates, Veer Pratap, Harsh Vikram, Ashutosh Aman and Sachin Kumar picked a wicket each.

After bowling out Manipur for 337 runs today, Bihar started their innings slowly and had a jolt in the fifth delivery of the opening over with Jotin Pheiroijam trapping V Raj who wasted the previous four balls, lbw for a 5-ball duck.

As Babul Kumar and Rishav looked to build momentum, Kishan Singha set up Babul Kumar's catch for 18 to make it 29 for 2 in 9 overs.

Rishav who was playing second fiddle to Sachin Kumar for the third wicket stand then departed at 22 as he was caught and bowled by Kishan Singha to break the partnership at 52 runs and reduced Bihar to 81 for 3 in 20.1 overs.

Sachin Kumar who was unbeaten on 84 on the back of 10 fours in 84 deliveries he faced, then saw S Gani who cracked a double ton in the previous innings bowl out for 8 runs, Harsh Vikram trap lbw for a 32-ball duck and Bipin Saurabh who hit a ton in the previous innings, for a 6-ball duck all by Kishan Singha.

Shivam Singha was also unbeaten on 9 as the day was called after 48 overs.
