Kh Madhushumita wins India gold at 8th South Asian Karate C'ship

Imphal, July 19 2024:
Manipur's Kh Madhushumita has clinched a kumite gold medal for India at the 8th South Asian Karate Championship being hosted by Bhutan in Thimphu under the aegis of South Asian Karate Federation.

Madhushumita, who is a SAI-STC Imphal inmate won the gold medal in the -59 kg category competition by defeating her rival from Nepal in the final.
She is the daughter of Khangembam Chandrabarti and Khangembam Bina Devi of Kumbi Khuga Wangma and currently trains under SAI Karate Coach Soibam Chandrima.
Madhushumita, who is competing in an international competition for the first time, was accompanied by general secretary of Manipur Karate-Do Association, Kyoshi Mutum Bankim and Renshi Soibam Bindeshori Chanu.
The championship concludes tomorrow.
