46th Senior State Handball : YLK qualify for women's final despite 23-23 draw with IMC

YLK, Chingarel Tejpur qualified for the women's final in the 46th Senior State Level Handball Tournament despite a 23-23 draw with IMC, Thoubal in their last league stage match.
Y Monika led the scoring for YLK adding 9 points while Nomika pumped in 6 goals.
Sonia and Barlice in the meantime added 4 and 2 goals for the team as Meloda and Pitalika scored a goal apiece.
On the other hand, Jinita topscored for IMC with 9 goals as Ronibala, Umabati and Ranjita scored 6, 3 and 2 goals respectively.
Roshibala also netted a goal for the team.
Earlier in the day, YLK secured a 19-8 win over ESU to boost their final hopes.
Monika and Nomika scored 6 goals apiece to inspire YLK the comfortable win as Barlice added thrice.
Sonia and Pitalkia, in the meantime contributed two goals apiece.
For ESU, Inunganbi (4), Sunita (3) and Anjali (1) were on target.
The day also saw MRC, Mairengkhong; MPSC and ESU, Wangkhei secure victories in the men's Group A competition.
MRC defeated SSC, Khurai by 20-15 goals courtesy of Sanjoy's heroic performance.
Sanjoy netted highest 10 goals for the winning side as Samson and Santikumar contributed 3 goals apiece and four others grabbed a goal apiece.
Basker in the meantime topscored for SCC with 7 goals as Kenedy and Zidane scored three goals apiece and Morison added twice.
MPSC in the meantime thumped MRC by 16-9 goals thanks to Robi (8).Bijoy, Ingocha and Saratchandra also netted two goals apiece for the team as Becker and Hemanta added a goal apiece.
Bijen (3), Nelson (2) and Samson (2) were the main contributors for MRC in the match.
Raju (10), Ortega (3) and Yoihenba (3) meanwhile steered ESU to a 23-15 win over SSC, Khurai in the other Group A match of the day.
In the lone men's Group B match of the day, IMC, Thoubal beat OYO, Kongpal 32-19 as Imocha (9), Milan (8), Lemba (5), Lamnganba (4) and Prem (3) led from the front.
Yaithoiba (4) and General (4) in the meantime led the scoring for OYO.
