1st MNCA U-23 Men's Cricket : TCMDC confirm quarterfinal slot with fourth straight victory

TCMDC, Thongju assured themselves of a quarter final berth in the 1st MNCA Haobam Biramangol Memorial U-23 Men's Cricket Tournament by defeating THAU, Thangmeiband by 6 wickets for the fourth Group B victory.
Confident TCMDC won the toss and bowled out THAU for 99 runs within 21.5 overs after electing to field first.
They chased down the target in just 15.1 overs losing 4 wickets.
Albert Sorokhaibam (4/9) and Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma (3/23) led the TCMDC bowling attack to devastate THAU batting line up.
Shinoj Khwairakpam 33 not out and Pukhrambam Hilbert 20 were the only double digit run getters for THAU today.

U Rain, K Ringku and L Valindra also picked a wicket apiece for TCMDC in the THAU's innings before Laishram Vivekananda 26 not out, K Kalyan Sharma 21, Rain 14, Leihaothabam Tondon 14 and Waikhom Mathoi 13 set up the victory within 15.1 overs despite Rajkumar Thapa's effort to contain them.
Rajkumar Thapa returned with the best bowling figures of 3/19 for THAU.
The day also saw KASC, Khomidok post their third straight Group D victory by crushing YPHUC by 327 runs.
Md Sharif Khan scored a tone (104 off 99 balls) and the trio of Md Ali Karim (83 off 86 balls), Md Aqeel (68 not out off 25 balls) and Washim Akram (62 off 19 balls) scored half centuries to help KASC post a commanding total of 381 runs for 4 wickets after electing to bat first.
KASC then rode on Md Aqeel 3/10 and Md Babu 3/17 to set up YPHUC's collapse at 54 in 25.5 overs.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, AKSDO ended their 2 game losing run by defeating REYS by 139 runs.
Put in to bat first, AKSDO rode Saikhom Kaiku and Bishorjit Mangang's identical 75 to pile up innings total of 224/8 in 40 overs and bowled out REYS for 85 runs within 15.3 overs thanks to exemplary bowling performances from Rosan Laishram (4/1), Akash Laishram (3/360 and Sanayai Ningthoujam (2/19) .
REYS skipper Kiran Laishram returned with the best bowling figures of 3/19 in the AKSDO innings before they faltered badly in the chase despite Naoshekpam Manglemba's unbeaten 33 off 27 balls.
