PTCC snap three game losing streak in 9th MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, February 08 2025: PTCC, Patsoi Part III ended their three game losing streak in the league stage of the 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament 2024 by defeating SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai today.

PTCC opted to bat first at Moijing Public Ground this morning and added 165 runs before losing all the wickets in 39.4 overs.

PTCC bowlers however produced a better performance to dismiss SCCC for 138 runs in 35.5 overs and sealed their first win in four matches.

Andy Mandingbam 41, Sohail Akram 26, Gemson Mutum 25 and Hijam Hemachandra 20 were the leading run getters for PTCC in the first innings.

For SCCC, Hidangmayum Rakeshwor Republic starred with a fifer (5/23 in 7.4 overs) and Bikash Singh picked two wickets (2/30 in 8 overs) as Kh Lishan and Kh Joyraj chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Although the bowlers were impeccable in their performances, the batting department faltered and they slumped to 138 runs despite Phijam Langamba's 40 and Moirangthem Thomas's fight 53 off 57 balls as PTCC bowlers put in a concerted effort.

Sohail Akram returned with the best bowling figures of 4/16 for PTCC in his spell of 6.5 overs as Shapam Kenjit (2/11), Naorem Victor (2/26) and Gemson Mutum (2/20) shared 6 crucial wickets.

Sohail Akram was eventually adjudged player of the match.
