KIWT 2022: Nanglhun Veng seal U-15 final berth

Nanglhun Veng U-15 team entered final and the veteran team reached semifinals in the ongoing 18th Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tournament 2022 .
The day also saw both the veteran and men's teams of Jonlhing Veng enter semi-finals.
In the first semifinal match of the U-15 competition, Nanglhun Veng had an easy 3-1 over Ahsijolneng Veng to sail through to the final.
Letgoumang (20'), Mangpilun (52'), and Lengunhao (58') scored for the Nanglhun side while Haotinkhup grabbed the lone goal of Ahsijolneng Veng in the 38th minute.
In the first quarterfinal match of the veteran football, Jonlhing Veng edged past Kilkhong Veng 2-0 to book a berth in the semifinal round as Paokhomang alias Paaji (12') and Tonghen (35') scored the winning goals despite the absence of their main striker Len Lhouvum on medical ground.

In the second veteran quarterfinal match, Nanglhun Veng overwhelmed contender Ngambom Veng 4-2 via tie break after a goalless draw in the regulation time.
Meanwhile in the first quarterfinal match of the men's football, Jonlhing Veng sealed a 3-2 win over Ngambom Veng in a keenly contested match to book a berth in the semifinal round.
Ngambom Veng had a good start to the game and led the first half through Seibem (4') and Jangkholen (7') goals but Jonlhing Veng had a better come back in the second half and came to level terms with Ruata (49) and Nelson (54) goals.
Nelson then completed his brace in the 58th minute and handed the 3-2 win.
In the second quarterfinal match, defending champions Vengthah had a narrow 0-1 loss to Kholmun Veng despite a brilliant performance while paving a way for Kholmun Veng in the semifinal round.
The lone winning goal for Kholmun Veng was scored by Letkhanlal in the 47th minute.
Tomorrow, the second semi-final match of U-15 football will be played between Enjakhup Veng and Dr GG Crozier Mission compound at 8 am.
In veteran football, Vengthah will play Sipinthei Veng in the third quarterfinal match while Chengjapao Veng will play Phungtin Veng in the last quarterfinal match.
In men's football, Enjakhup Veng will play Phungtin Veng in the third quarterfinal match while Chengjapao Veng will play Sipinthei Veng in the last quarterfinal match.
