M Songgel YC lift 7th Seikam trophy

Haopu's hattrick powered M Songgel Youth Club (MSYC) to a massive 5-1 win over Tuibuong Civilised Club to claim the 7th (L) Seikam Memorial Open Football trophy which has been touted as one of the most successful soccer tournaments in Churachandpur district at Kholmun playground today.
It was a disastrous start for Tuibuong Civilised Club (TCC) as MSYC's Haopu netted the opener just one minute into the game.
Haopu scored another goal in the 14th minute.
The spirited fight exhibited by the Tuibuong side paid dividends when Chintoo scored the lone goal for the TCC in the 35th minute.
MSYC Dannyboy's 39th minute score put the scoreline at 3-1 in favour of the Songgel side at the end of the first half.

Unshaken by the 3-1 deficit, TCC players undauntedly put up a strong fight to find the equaliser in the second half of the match.
However, the TCC defenders found it hard to stop Haopu, who was already on a scoring spree, netted another spectacular goal in the 57th minute thus notching up a hattrick.
Another goal for MSYC through Jessy in the 86th minute helped seal the Songgel side to register a massive 5-1 win.
A total of 60 teams participated in the two-month long tournament with 369 goals being conceded during the 115 matches and a total of 132 players booked with yellow card and 4 others shown the red card.
The biggest defeat of the tournament was United Khawzim Brothers thrashing United Boys FC by a margin of 10-0 during the group stage of the tournament.
Zoheisa FC player Malsawmdawngliana walked away with the best goalkeeper award while Jessy of M Songgel was awarded the best player award.
With 13 goals in his kitty, Lelminthang of S Nabil FC bagged the top-scorer award.
Former Minister and Saikot MLA TN Haokip presented the winning trophy accompanied by a cash prize of Rs 60,000.CCpur ADC member from Kholmun DCC, Khaipao Haokip gave away the runners-up trophy to TCC.
