FC Zalen cruise past USA; KLASA, NACO draw

FC Zalen notched a 4-1 win over USA, Khurai while KLASA, Keinou and NACO, Nambul Mapal were held in a 1-1 tie in the ongoing 11th Manipur State League today at Mapal Kangjeibung.
The match between FC Zalen, Sadar Hills and USA, Khurai was a one-sided affair as the Sadar Hills side dominated possession right from the start.
USA were not without opportunities although they failed to convert some chances.
Bedeenpar Moyon handed an early lead to FC Zalen as he slammed home the opener in the 7th minute through an assist from Paolenlal Khongsai.
After conceding a goal, USA sent more men in the attack.
Even as they were in the attacking mode for about 15 minutes, their efforts could not yield better result due to poor finishing.
FC Zalen extended their lead when Thangtinlen Haokip netted one in the first half stoppage time and the first half ended with the Sadar Hills side taking an easy 2-0 lead.
FC Zalen made some changes in the second half and put USA under pressure.
Patrick Kamei added one goal to the account of FC Zalen through a free kick in the 57th minute.
Not long after FC Zalen’s third goal, P Dingampu pulled one back for USA.
Lamgoulen found the net of USA in the 88th minute to make the final scoreline 4-1 in favour of FC Zalen.
In another thrilling encounter, KLASA, Keinou were held to a 1-1 draw by NACO, Nambul Mapal thanks to a stoppage time equaliser.
KLASA were in control of the match after Lamminthang Touthang booted home one in the 8th minute.
The Keinou side were sniffing victory until NACO’s Ch Roshan superb header found their net in the last minute of the additional time.
LALIT THAPA suspended for one match MSL Committee has placed Lalit Thapa, goalkeeper of NEROCA FC, under suspension for the next one match of the team as per AMFA Disciplinary Code 2015.Consequent upon a report that Lalit Thapa of NEROCA FC entered the technical area of TRAU immediately after the final whistle of the match on Oct 5 and used insulting words against Amos Nathaniel Adisa of TRAU, the MSL Committee in its meeting held on Oct 6 decided to warn Lalit Thapa with one match suspension, said a statement issued by AMFA.
