4th MCA Elite Tournament : CYCLONE book final berth with narrow win

CYCLONE, Thangmeiband registered a narrow 1 wicket victory against CHAMP, Khagempalli to cruise into the final of the ongoing 4th MCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket stadium, Luwangsangbam.
The first qualifier match of the tournament saw CHAMP elect to bat first and post a total of 206 runs for 10 wicket in 40 overs.
Batting second, CYCLONE replied with 210 runs for 9 in 40 overs to seal the final berth of this top tier competition.
CHAMP started the game on a positive note with Bonny hitting a total of 51 runs in 60 balls.
However, the following order could not gathered significant runs as the bowlers of the Thangmeiband side were best in maintaining economy today.
Hemantakumar was second highest scorer with 22 runs from 24 balls in his name while Kenedy added another 20 runs before he went out facing 13 balls.
Rajesh and Arshad Afridi scored 17 runs each in this inning to make it 206 at the end of their innings.
Kishan of CYCLONE led the bowling with 4 wickets in his name while Bikash, Vishal and Homendro took honours to dismiss two wickets each.
The second innings went almost similar to the first innings but the last over favoured CYCLONE for a nail biting finish.
Homendro took off the innings blazing an outstanding 52 runs in 37 balls while Rahul had to face 50 balls to score 25 runs hindering the chase for a while.
The remaining batting line did not lose hope and stitched together well to secure the narrow win.
Kishan and Ronaldo also contributed 18 and 16 runs respectively in this innings to make it through to the final.
Sultan of CHAMP picked up 3 wickets in this innings while Kabir and Srinivash came up with two wicket hauls each.
Thomas also picked up one wicket.
Homendro of CYCLONE was adjudged man of the match.
TRAU, Kwakeithel will meet Sangai CCC, Singjamei in the next qualifier tomorrow.
