35th National Games: Manipur storm into women's football semis

Manipur stormed into the semi-finals of the women's football in the ongoing 35th National Games at the Corporation Stadium, Trissur in Kerala after drubbing Jharkhand by an impressive margin of 11 goals to nil in the last league round match this evening.
With this resounding victory, Manipur topped group B' with six points by winning two league matches.
Puducherry had withdrawn from the event.
For Manipur, Ng Bala Devi scored six goals in the 15th, 21st, 27th, 28th, 30th and 38th minute while I Parmeshwori Devi found the net in the 44th minute during first half.
In the second half, S Rinaroy Devi scored two goals in the 56th and 86th minute while Ng Ngoubi Devi and O Bembem Devi (Captain) scored a goal each in the 65th and 78th minute respectively.
In an earlier match, Manipur beat Haryana by 2-1 .
Holders Odisha and host Kerala booked their semi-final berths in women's football from Pool 'A' on Tuesday.
On Sunday, Manipur will meet host Kerala at 3.30 pm and the defending champion Odisha will meet Haryana at 7.30 am.

Meanwhile, Huidrom Bijendranath Singh of Manipur today entered the semi-final after winning his elimination round match againt his team mate Nepram Arjun Singh by 6-4 points, in Indian Round Men Individual event of Archery.
Okram Naobi Chanu of Manipur also got into the semi-final after defeating her team mate Pukhrihongbam Sonia Devi by 6-4 points in India Round Women Individual event of Archery.
Today, athletics and triathlon teams of Manipur arrived at the Games Village here.
Athletics team consist of 30 players and six officials and triathlon team comprise of eight players with three officials.
Fencing team comprising of 24 players with 11 officials arrived today at Ernakulam where cycling events would take place at CIAL Convention Centre, Nedumbasserry.
Canoeing and Kayaking team consisting of 36 players and three officials arrived at Alappuzha where events would take place at Punnamada lake.
