NESU, NERAU reach Shiriu Lily Cup quarterfinals

Imphal, March 30 2023: NESU and NERAU emerged victorious to ensure their places in the quarterfinals of the 30th Shirui Lily Cup National Level Football Tournament on Thursday.

NESU beat FC Raengdai in a penalty shootout to earn their quarterfinal spot.

The game went into penalty kicks after the two teams remained deadlock at 3-3 .

In the shootout, NESU prevailed 3-2 against their opponents courtesy of Sanathoi, Apison and David.

Later in the day, NERAU rode on Shirinmi's late goal to edge past Classic FA 1-0 into the last eight.

Shirinmi fired home the decider in the 83rd minute.
