Over 2000 runners join WWII Memorial Run

Kakching, September 11 2022:
The 3rd Edition of Kakching World War II Memorial Run, Manipur 2022 was held on Sunday with 2000-plus runners participating in the Run flagged off jointly by Kakching MLA Mayanglanbam Rameshwar and former boxing world champion Laishram Sarita from Khunjampat ground Kakching Wairi.
The memorial run which was divided into 10 km fun run and 21.1 km competitive race passed through various parts of the district and finished at Khunjampat ground.
The participants included Tamil Nadu health minister Ma Subramanian in support of the Kakching Runners' effort for bringing a healthy society and environment free from pollution.
The 21 km run was won by Lr Luther from Assam (male) and Tayenjam Russia (female) in the 18 to 35 years category, while Ranjana (female) and NP Singh (male) were the winners in the 36 to 45 years category.
In the 46 to 55 years male category, Rudreswor won the first position, while in 56 to 99 years male category, Paresh Chandra bagged the top prize.
In the 10 km fun run, male and female, young and aged, students and teachers, children and adults, numbering more than 1000 runners took part.
The programme concluded with distribution of prizes to the winners along with con solation prizes.
