AKSDO, TCMDC triumph in Luwangpokpa T20 Trophy

Imphal, April 27 2025: AKSDO and TCMDC clinched victories in their respective league matches of the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T20 Trophy, held at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground, Imphal.

AKSDO defeated IBSA by four wickets.

After winning the toss and opting to field, AKSDO restricted IBSA to a modest 72 runs in 16 overs.

Sanayai Ningthoujam led the bowling attack with an impressive 4-wicket haul for just 8 runs, well supported by Rohit Laishram (2/8) and Azmad Kh (2/15) .

Chasing 73 for victory, AKSDO faced a few early setbacks but managed to reach the target in 18 overs, losing six wickets.

Khamba Khundongbam top-scored with 20 runs off 27 balls, while Winchelly Laishram contributed a crucial 16 runs.

Despite a disciplined effort by IBSA's bowlers, AKSDO held then-nerve to secure the win.

In the other fixture, TCMDC comfortably overcame KSDO by six wickets.

Opting to field first after winning the toss, TCMDC's bowlers, led by Suraj Kharib-am (3/22) and Md Shah Jahan (2/17), restricted KSDO to 123 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Md Abdul Razaque stood out for KSDO with a quickfire 27 not out from 17 balls.

In response, TCMDC chased down the target with ease, reaching 129 for 4 in just 16.1 overs.

Maibam Ashokumar anchored the innings with an unbeaten 46 off 41 balls, ably supported by Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma's aggressive 31 from 21 balls.

The victory was sealed by Suraj Kharibam, who remained not out on 17 .
