LT Lowly, first from Senapati to play in Santosh Trophy

A Senapati district lad, LT Lowly from Ngari Lishang village has been selected to compete in the prestigious 78th National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy 2024-25, set to take place in Tripura.
District Sports Association president A Karang expressed his excitement about LT Lowly's selection, noting that it marks the first time a player from the district sports association will represent at the national level, creating history and pride for the entire district.
He said that this selection could pave the way for future sports talent from the area, assuring that more players will follow in Lowly's footsteps.
Karang also expressed his happiness over the selection of a goalkeeper from Asufii Football Academy for the state team.
Known as a football powerhouse, Manipur will see Lowly playing as a striker, and he is optimistic about securing a place in the I-League or ISL in the near future.
LT Lowly is said to be the first to represent the District Sports Association, Senapati.
The selected players are scheduled to report to the Artificial Turf Ground at Lamlong Thongkhong on October 26 .
Previously, players like L Pungding from Katomei and Hiishupulou from Khamsom represented Madhya Pradesh and KLASA in the Santosh Trophy, respectively.
