State MMA athletes & coach receive hero's welcome

Imphal, December 20 2024: Twelve athletes from the Kangleipak Mixed Martial Arts Club were greeted with a hero's reception by MMA enthusiasts upon their arrival at Imphal Airport on Friday, following a highly successful campaign at the ICL Indian Combat League - Season Eight.

Representing Manipur, the team returned home with an impressive haul of 10 gold medals, coupled with two title belts.

Coach Nandeibam Frank Mangang played a crucial role in guiding the team to this remarkable achievement at the competition, which was organised by the National Martial Arts Committee of India and held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from December 13 to 16, 2024 .

Among the winners, Kiyam Inaosana and Zepther Bariamtak secured title belts, while Kh Jamesbond, A Tulajit, L Lakhan, K Rishi, H Hand, Ch Gandhi, W Mangal, A Mangaleiba, L Delbert, and S Justine each claimed gold medals, highlighting the team's outstanding performance.
