SSU, NESU eke out wins in State League

Imphal, November 09 2022: Both SSU and NESU prevailed by an identical margin in the Manipur State League 2022 on Wednesday at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur.

SSU struggled past TRAU 2-1 in a tight contest.

Robert Usham put SSU ahead in the 11th minute only to be cancelled out seven minutes later by Bishal Robidas' strike.

SSU, however, regained their lead in the 43rd minute through Mynam Arif Husain and they clung on to secure all three points.

NESU, on the other hand, fought back from a first-half deficit to snatch a 2-1 success against RAU.

RAU appeared the better side in the first 45 minutes.

They took the lead in the 35th minute goal after Wakambam Michael was on target.

After the break, NESU toiled through 27 minutes to even the score courtesy of Yuithing Khongreiwo.

Then an intense battle ensued but RAU's defensive error in the 88th minute proved costly as their own goal eventually tilted the scales in NESU's favour.
