Before establishing the centre, I was providing training individually, and in 2012 expanded my scope with strong support from parents," Punsiba said.
The centre was formally established in 2018 and has been offering free basic coaching programmes since then, charging only a minimal fee for the maintenance of the training hall.
He added that several of his trainees have gone on to win medals in various competitions.
He will be assisted by assistant trainer Heikrujam Yaiphaba, also a national player, along with six others.
Punsiba said that he remains committed to nurturing young players from the grassroots level for as long as he can, and urged parents to identify their children's passion early so they can be guided towards achieving their full potential.
