YAC, IBSA put up dominant shows in MNCA Plate tourney

YAC and IBSA registered commanding victories in the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25 on Friday.
YAC clinched a decisive six-wicket win against KIYC in a Group B fixture at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Opting to bat, KIYC posted a modest total of 131, being bowled out in 25.5 overs.
Akip Zensi was the standout performer with a resilient 61, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled against YAC's disciplined bowling.
Indrakumar Wayenbam led the attack with an impressive four-wicket haul, while Oinam Kiran, Bhopendra Mangang, Priyokumar Wayenbam, Abocha Laishram, and Joychandra Ngangom chipped in with a wicket each.
In reply, YAC chased down the target comfortably in 17.4 overs, losing four wickets.
Nehru Thokchom (36) and O Kishan (32 not out) anchored the innings, supported by contributions from Bhopendra Mangang (26) and Amit Singh (16).Abdulla Khan picked up two wickets for KIYC, with Ahanthem Mangesh and Saddam claiming one each.
Meanwhile, in the Group A encounter, IBSA outclassed MPA by 50 runs at Cherapur.
Batting first, IBSA were dismissed for 138 in 28.3 overs, with Subhas Khundrakpam top-scoring with a composed 63.Nandakumar (31) and Yengkhom Bhomendro (18) provided additional support.
MPA's bowlers, led by Yumnam Sheiteendra with four wickets, delivered a brilliant performance.
Vivekraj Chabungbam and Huidrom Dhanashyam also contributed significantly, taking three wickets apiece.
However, MPA's batting lineup faltered under pressure, folding for a mere 88 in 21.4 overs.
Pravesh was the standout bowler for IBSA, dismantling the opposition with a four-wicket haul.
Yengkhom Bhomendro added to the pressure with three wickets, while James Awang and Boney Pot-shangbam claimed one wicket each, securing IBSA's comprehensive victory.
