CHG students win 2 gold, 1 silver at State Bench Press Championship

Thoubal, January 05 2025: Students from the Children Home for Girls (CHG), managed by the Women Income Generation Centre (WIGC) in Thoubal, achieved remarkable success at the 13th State Level Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior, and Masters Men and Women Bench Press Championship 2024.The championship, organised by the All Manipur Powerlifting Association, was held at Sega Road, Takhellambam Leikai.

The CHG students secured two gold and one silver medal as M Linthoi clinched gold in the 52kg category, M Pushpa won gold in the 43kg category, and Ch Asha Devi earned a silver medal.

All three medallists, who are Class VI students, were felicitated by WIGC officials and staff at a reception held at the Children Home for Girls, Thoubal Wangmataba, on Sunday.

The felicitation ceremony was attended by WIGC secretary Oinam Indira Devi, manager K Okendrojit Singh, Children Home's superintendent Okram Deepa Devi, councillor Oinam Premku-mar, and other staff members.
