CRPF organizes Marathon Race

In connection with the 75th Diamond Jubilee of CRPF held in the entire nation of the country, a mini marathon race for both men and women based on the theme "Run for Unity" was organized by CRPF, Langjing, Imphal, Manipur, here today.

Mary Kom who recently won gold medal in the Asian Games 2014, held at Incheon, South Korea flagged off the marathon race while attending as chief guest in the opening function.
The marathon race was flagged off from Sagolband Tera Bazar and it was ended at Langjing Achouba Football Ground.
A total of 1062 men and women including civil public and force personnel participated in the "Run for Unity".
In the men's category, altogether 327 competitors took part in the race as well.
Amir Khan from Yairipok Tulihal was awarded 1st position, W.Angangcha Singh from Kakyai was placed in the second position while Kh.
Premjit Singh from Meitram Awang Leikai in the third position.
.SRomesh Singh from Samurou, N.Tokyo Singh from Pukhrambam, N.Nanao Singh from Pallel, Sahabuddin from Sangaiyumpham, L.Jogendro Singh from Kakyai, Idrish from Kwakta and M.Sunil Singh from Thoubal were placed in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th position respectively.
Moreover, in the women's category, S.Premila Devi from Yairipok secured 1st position; M.K.Minarasi Devi from Tulihal secured second position, Th.Malemnganbi Devi from Thoubal in 3rd position.
.KBandana Devi from Moidangpok, Y.Sangita Devi from Mayang Imphal, O.Mema Devi from Lilong, Kh.
Amita Devi from Nachou, M.Milanpu from Kakching, W.Chandrakiran and M.Bindiya Devi from Takyel were awarded 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th position respectively.
A cash prize money award of Rs.5000, Rs.3000 and Rs.2000 was awarded to first, second and third position holders of the race and an amount of Rs.1000 each to 4th to 10th position holders.
Participants who took part in the "Run for Unity" were also presented T-Shirts by CRPF.
