MNCA Elite: KCC, MODEL script resounding wins

Imphal, February 19 2025: In a display of clinical cricket, KCC and MODEL registered emphatic victories in Wednesday's league matches of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament 2024-25.KCC thrashed PTCC (Patsoi Cricket Club) by seven wickets in a one-sided affair at the Moijing Public Ground in Thoubal.

Asked to bat first, PTCC faltered early and were skittled for 146 in 35.3 overs, despite a valiant 80-run knock from Andy Mandingbam.

Sohail Akram (24) provided fleeting support, but PTCC's innings crumbled under the relentless bowling of KCC's Tayenjam Tomba, who claimed a sensational five-wicket haul (5) .

He was ably assisted by Nameirakpam Arbin (2), with Sunil Salam and Rohen chipping in with a wicket apiece.

In reply, KCC's chase was anchored by an unbeaten 55 from Rohit, who steered the innings with composure.

Opener Kisham Mranojit (15) laid a steady foundation, while Nongmaithem Dijaraj (33) accelerated the scoring before Nameirakpam Arbin (29*) partnered Rohit to seal victory in 32 overs.

PTCC's Shapam Kenjit (2) and Sadananda Okram (1) struck briefly but lacked support as KCC romped home at 148/3 .

Meanwhile, MODEL delivered a dominant performance to dismantle REYS by 114 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground.

Electing to bat first, MODEL posted a competitive 176/8, buoyed by contributions across the order.

Langlonyamba (31), Maisnam Tejkumar (29), and Suson Yanglem (26*) shone with the bat, while Bijenkumar Nongmaithem (19), Thoudam Deepak (18), and Anand and Debak Naorem (14 and 13) added vital runs.

REYS' Pinkey Sanasam emerged as the standout bowler, claiming 4 in a disciplined spell.

In response, REYS' batting lineup collapsed spectacularly, bundled out for a meagre 63 in just 15.2 overs.

MODEL's Suson Yanglem (4) and Waikhom Priyokumar (4) orchestrated the demolition with a fiery four-wicket haul each, while Robertson and Bisai Ningombam (1 wicket each) compounded REYS' misery.

The lopsided result underscored MODEL'S all-round dominance, propelling them to a resounding win.
