Manipur end campaign with 11 medals

Imphal, January 16 2023: Manipur ended their campaign with 11 medals in the 13th NTPC Cherukuri Lenin Volga Memorial Mini (U-14) & 5th NTPC Cherukuri Lenin Volga Memorial Kids (U-9) National Archery Championship, which wrapped up at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

The state team's medal haul included four gold, three silver and four bronze.

Three of Manipur's gold medals came courtesy of team events while Yumnam Jackson was the lone gold medallist in the individual contest.

He claimed his yellow metal in the U-14 boys' Indian round event.

In the Indian round U-9 team's competition, the boys' team of Konthoujam Hanson Singh, Elangbam Hemthou-ba, Mahesh Elangbam and A Nganba picked up a total of five points to win the gold medal, while the pair of Konthoujam Hanson Singh and Moirangthem Lanchenbi Devi claimed the top podium honour in the mixed team event.

Manipur's other gold medal in the team event came courtesy of Zu-ventus Khaidem, Chitresh Hajarimayum, Lanngamba Mutum and Polem Aadyajit Singh who triumphed in the final of the U-9 boys' compound team event.
