ESU, KASC, SU, AMCA carry the day in MNCA U-16 Boys' Trophy

ESU, KASC, SU and AMCA notched up wins in Friday's league matches of the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 .
ESU thumped KSDO by 138 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
Electing to bat, ESU set up a competitive total of 222/10 in 35 overs.
In the innings, Hanjabam Naoba Sharma top-scored with 51, followed by Hanjabam Donba Sharma (42), Thokchom Simesh (38), Sandham Abhinash Singh (16), Devashree G (13) and Soibam Venus Singh (11) .
In reply, KSDO were bowled out for 84 in 22 overs.
Thokchom Simesh and Yumkham Yoirelba were the standout bowlers for ESU, each claiming 3 wickets.
Hanjabam Naoba Sharma took 2 wickets, while Akoijam Sangba Singh and Soibam Venus Singh each took 1 .
Mohammed Gunbas was the lone notable performer for KSDO, remaining unbeaten on 24.KASC defeated YESS-DAN by 4 wickets at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal.
Opting to field, KASC bowled YESSDAN out for just 62 runs in 21 overs.
Jaheer starred with the ball, taking 5 wickets, while Md Ruhal and Mohammad Sakif Hussain claimed 2 wickets each, and Syed Ashif added one.
In response, KASC reached the target in 14.1 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
Jaheer contributed 12 runs, while Mohammad Sakif Hussain (12), Leishangkhong Maqubul Fida Ali (8 not out), Md Ruhal (6), and Mdalfash (4 not out) helped secure the win.
For YESSDAN, Maisnam Anderson and Oinam Aditaya Singh took 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
SU emerged victorious by 43 runs over CYSA at Khu-deiband Lampak, Taothong (Lamshang).
SU elected to bat and posted a total of 152/9, with Philan Rajkumar (40), Devraj Sorokhaibam (27), and Romanta Sagolsem (13) leading the way.
CYSA were bowled out for 109 in 29.5 overs, with Wang-mem Akram being the only batter to reach double figures.
David Keisham was the top bowler for SU, claiming 4 wickets, while Sagolsem Hemjit Singh and Keisham Yaikhomba took 2 wickets each, and Keisham Anderson and Philan Rajkumar contributed 1 wicket each.
Meanwhile, AMCA beat YPHUC by 34 runs at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Put in to bat, AMCA scored 177/9 in their 35 overs, with Moichingmayum Mohammad Anash (53 not out), Moichingmayum Md Yakin (28), Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan (24), Thoubalmayum Mustakim (13) and Maibam Anish (12) contributing to the total.
In reply, YPHUC wilted under pressure and ended up managing 143/9 in 35 overs as Irom Sunny Singh's fighting 48 went in vain.
For AMCA, Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan claimed 3 wickets, Moichingmayum Md Yakin bagged 2, and Thoubalmayum Mustakim and Maibam Anish got one each in their victory.
