Imphal, May 08 2025:
SSU cruised to a resounding 4-0 win over AMFA, while YSWA were denied all three points after a late NISA equaliser forced a 1-1 draw in Thursday's 2nd Premier League 2025-26 action.
SSU wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Robert Usham slotting home calmly in the 21st minute before Sorokhaibam Amitkumar doubled the lead five minutes later.
AMFA, thoroughly out classed in the first period, regrouped defensively after the interval, but SSU eventually extended their advantage in the 81st minute through Ningombam Kabiraj.
Maisa-nam Biken Meitei then added a fourth in stoppage time to complete the rout.
Meanwhile, YSWA were left frustrated as a last-gasp Konsam Angamba Meitei strike earned NISA a share of the spoils in a closely fought encounter.
Following a goalless first half, Goldenson Japui broke the deadlock for YSWA in the 69th minute.
Just as they seemed set for a narrow win, Meitei struck in the dying seconds to ensure the points were split.
